It's true that Anita was in deep mourning and anger and may not have had all the facts, but her argument to Maria that "a boy who kills cannot love, a boy who kills has no heart" is ironic given that Bernardo killed Riff first. (0) Comments
a zip gun is a makeshift guy - its basically a bullet nudged into a piece of conduit, with a rubber-band tied on the back end - like a slingshot, and a rock in the sling. The bad guy pulls back on the slingshot with the rock in it, points the zip gun at someone and lets fly the rock. The rock hits the bottom of the cartridge and sets it off, firing the bullet.
It's ironic that, without Tony's interference, neither Riff nor Bernardo *might* have been killed in the first place. Neither pulled a knife until Riff interfered on Tony's behalf, and Riff ran out of Tony's arms right into Bernardo's knife. (0) Comments
If the Jets had let Anita deliver her original message, instead of giving her justification for modifying it after they tried to rape her, Tony and Maria might have been together and Tony wouldn't have been shot by Chino. Indeed, Maria was quite right when she said "you ALL killed him." (0) Comments
